Craig Morgan Greer (born July 17, 1964), known professionally as Craig Morgan, is an American country music artist. A veteran of the United States Army as a forward observer, Morgan began his musical career in 2000 on Atlantic Records, releasing his self-titled debut album for that label before the closure of its Nashville division in 2000. In 2002, Morgan signed to the independent Broken Bow Records, on which he released three studio albums: 2003's I Love It, 2005's My Kind of Livin', and 2006's Little Bit of Life. These produced several chart hits, including "That's What I Love About Sunday," which spent four weeks at the top of the Billboard country charts and was that publication's Number One country hit of 2005. A greatest hits package followed in mid-2008 before Morgan left the label for BNA Records, on which he released That's Why later that same year. My Kind of Livin' is also his highest-selling album, having been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). After exiting BNA, Morgan signed with Black River Entertainment and released This Ole Boy in 2012.

Morgan has charted seventeen times on the Billboard country charts. Besides "That's What I Love About Sunday," six more of his singles have reached that chart's Top Ten: "Almost Home," "Redneck Yacht Club," "Little Bit of Life," "International Harvester", "Love Remembers", and "Bonfire."

Craig Morgan Receives One of the U.S. Army’s Highest Civilian Awards

Country star Craig Morgan—who spent almost 10 years on active duty in the U.S. Army in the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions—was awarded the Army’s Outstanding Civilian Service Medal on June 23 in recognition of his dedication to entertaining troops and their families around the world. The presentation took place at the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the Association of the United States Army (GLAC AUSA) annual Army Ball at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Huntington Beach, Calif.

The Outstanding Civilian Service Medal is one of the highest awards that the Department of the Army can bestow upon a civilian. The Army recognized Craig for his significant dedication to supporting military members who have served their country, often in harm’s way. Craig has made 15 overseas tours for U.S. troops and performed for more than 37,000 service members and their families all over the world

Craig, who has scored numerous Top 10 hits over his career (“That’s What I Love About Sunday,” “Redneck Yacht Club,” “Bonfire”), recently completed his 10th USO Tour to entertain U.S. military members stationed overseas. The eightday tour visited seven countries and included stops in western Tokyo, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Iraq and Spain as well as the Korean Peninsula where the U.S. Army veteran was once stationed.

Craig Morgan Remembers Son Jerry Greer on What Would Have Been His 20th Birthday

On July 10, 2016, Craig Morgan’s son, Jerry Greer, 19, died in a tubing accident on Kentucky Lake.

Yesterday (Jan. 24), on what would have been Jerry’s 20th birthday, Craig shared a Facebook post with multiple pictures of Jerry and the message:

«Happy Birthday son because he lives we will see you again. Deuteronomy 15:10 thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the Lord thy God will bless the in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto.»

Craig Morgan Speaks Out After the Loss of His Son, Jerry Greer:

«Hardest Thing We Have Ever Had to Endure as a Family»

Craig Morgan, who lost his son Jerry Greer after a boating accident on July 10, posted a message to his social media platforms last night (July 20).

The loss of our son Jerry is the hardest thing we ever hat to endure as a family. Karen and I are so grateful for all of the wonderful people who have shown us unwavering support during this difficult time. There are too many to name here, but we are especially thankful for the Humphreys County sheriff and Fire Departments, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, and all the additional agencies and volunteers who turned out to bring our son home. We would also like to thank our friends, family members, and Jerry's friends who have all shown us an immense amount of love and support. Additionally, we cannot thank the music and outdoor communities enough for wrapping their arms around us, as well as

our industry friends, fans and all those that loved our son. We are blessed by the outpouring of prayers and condolences from across the world. Jerry may be gone from this earth, and we will miss him every day, but his spirit will live on in our hearts. We will find peace knowing that God has a bigger plan, and that one day, we'll be reunited with him again in Heaven. John 3:16 - Craig

The Jerry Greer Memorial Scholarship has been established by his friends and family who were so impacted by Jerry's energy and his love for life that in his departure they want to ensure that the future athletes o Dickson County High School, in particular those with dyslexia, not only remember him, but also celebrate his life through opportunities that they will receive because of Jerry.
